Basics
What a snapshot is, and why agencies run on them
Build once, reuse
Your best pipeline, follow-up workflows and funnels, copied into every new client account.
Onboard in minutes
A new sub-account can start from a snapshot instead of a blank page.
Sell your know-how
Package a niche build and sell it on the App Marketplace.
A snapshot is a point-in-time copypoint-in-time copy: A point-in-time copy: it doesn’t change when the source account changes until you refresh it.. For ready-made workflow recipes, see GoHighLevel templates.
Contents
What a snapshot copies, and what it never does
The rule: setup comes across; data and connections don’t.
Copied
- Workflows, triggers and trigger links
- Funnels, websites, blogs, forms, surveys and quizzes
- Calendars, calendar groups and services
- Pipelines, tags, smart lists, custom fields, custom values and custom objects
- Email and text templates, campaigns, social planner posts
- Dashboards, custom reports and metrics
- Membership offers, products, certificates and webinars
- Conversation AI, Voice AI agents, Agent Studio and Brand Voice
- Google, Meta and LinkedIn ad campaigns
- Documents and contracts, knowledge bases, design kits
- Review settings, WhatsApp templates and WordPress sites
Never copied
- Contacts, appointments, conversations and message history
- Reputation data (your reviews) and live activity
- Stripe and other integrations or connected accounts
- Phone numbers assigned to Voice AI agents
- Lead-gen forms for LinkedIn ads
- Private dashboards
- WordPress plugin or theme licences that need re-authorising
- Assets protected by another creator
From HighLevel’s Snapshots overview (modified 9 October 2026). It calls the exclusions “common items”, so test anything unusual.
Setup
How to create a snapshot
- Step 1
Build a master account
A sub-account with your best setup and no real client data.
- Step 2
Create the snapshot
Agency view → Account Snapshots → Create New Snapshot; pick the source account.
- Step 3
Choose assets
Select all, or only what you need. Include pipelines if you use smart lists or tags.
- Step 4
Test it
Load it into a sandbox sub-account and run every workflow before a client sees it.
If some assets fail to load, “Force create” saves everything else and lists what it skipped. HighLevel guides: create · refresh and selective snapshots.
Updates
Loading vs pushing updates
Loading adds a snapshot to an account; pushing sends changes to accounts that already loaded it.
| Compare | Load | Push updates |
|---|---|---|
| What happens | ||
| Use it for | First install in an account | Rolling out improvements |
| Deletes existing content | ||
| Overwrites items the snapshot created | — | Yes, and reverts manual edits |
| Items the client duplicated | — | Left alone |
| Reaches other agencies | Via a share link | No: share an updated link |
From HighLevel’s pushing and loading updates article. Refresh the snapshot before every push: snapshots don’t update themselves.
AI
“AI Employee” snapshots: what carries over
AI Employee is HighLevel’s AI suite. A snapshot can carry the configured agents, but not the plan or the phone number.
Conversation AI bots
Fully configured chat bots, including their settings, travel in snapshots.
Voice AI agents
Agent configuration comes across; assign a phone number in the new account.
Agent Studio & super agents
Cloned and shared through snapshots or the Marketplace.
- The receiving account needs AI enabled: AI Employee Growth $50/mo, Unlimited $97/mo per sub-account, or pay-per-use
- Knowledge bases and documents can be included; check business-specific answers before going live
- Conversation and Voice AI agent templates are also sold separately on the Marketplace
Costs in GoHighLevel AI pricing; capabilities in GoHighLevel AI.
Decide
Buy a snapshot or build your own?
| Compare | Buy | Build your own |
|---|---|---|
| Trade-offs | ||
| Time to first client | Fast | Slower |
| Fits your exact offer | Generic | Exactly |
| Cost | The seller’s price | Your time |
| You understand every workflow | Not at first | |
| Copy and branding | Rewrite needed | Yours |
Common path: buy one well-reviewed snapshot to learn the structure, then build a master snapshot for the niche you sell. Test any purchase in a sandbox first.
Sell
Selling snapshots on the App Marketplace
- Account Snapshots → ⋯ → Sell on Marketplace creates the app listing
- Pricing: one-time, monthly or yearly (set per app)
- One snapshot per app: price snapshots separately by creating separate apps
- IP protection: buyers can’t repackage or resell your assets
- Marketplace snapshots can be bundled into SaaS plans
HighLevel guides: selling snapshots · with SaaS plans.
Go live
After loading a snapshot: the client checklist
Everything a snapshot can’t copy, in the order we do it.
- Set custom values: business name, address, phone, links
- Connect a domain and publish funnels and websites (they arrive as drafts)
- Buy or port a phone number; file A2P registration
- Connect Stripe or another payment provider
- Connect email sending and Google Business Profile
- Assign calendars to the new team; reconnect Google/Outlook
- Give Voice AI agents a phone number
- Test every workflow with a dummy contact, then publish
Phone and texting setup: phone system · A2P registration.
Troubleshooting
Common snapshot problems and fixes
| Compare | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| After loading | ||
| Funnels or sites not live | They arrive as drafts | Connect a domain and publish |
| Smart lists or tags missing | Pipelines not in the snapshot | Recreate with pipelines selected |
| Voice AI agent can’t take calls | Numbers aren’t copied | Assign a number |
| Payments or integrations missing | Connections aren’t copied | Reconnect them in the new account |
| Updates | ||
| A client’s edits disappeared | A push overwrote them | Duplicate client-specific items |
| Another agency didn’t get the update | Pushes stay in your agency | Share an updated link |
| Snapshot creation fails | An asset can’t load | Use “Force create” and review skipped items |
