Basics
What a GoHighLevel funnel is, and when to use one
A funnel removes choices: one page, one action, then the next step.
One goal per funnel
Each step asks for one thing: an email, a booking or a payment.
Leads land in the CRM
Every opt-in creates a contact with its source, ready for follow-up.
Measured per step
Views, opt-ins, sales and bump rate for every step, plus split tests.

Testing
Split testing funnel pages
Available on all plans (HighLevel article modified 9 September 2026).
- Step 1
Connect a domain
Split tests need a domain on the funnel.
- Step 2
Create a variation
From the step, create a variation and make a real change (headline, offer, layout).
- Step 3
Set the split
Use the slider (e.g. 50/50) and start the test.
- Step 4
Pick the winner
Read the Stats tab once both versions have enough traffic, then choose the winner.
- Visitors are assigned by browser cookie: use incognito to see the other version
- Don’t edit the control during the test
- Ads pointing straight at a variation URL skew the split
- If an ad platform blocks the redirect, test step 2 instead
Tracking
Tracking pixels and conversions
- One step: paste the pixel in the step’s header tracking code
- Whole funnel: paste it in the funnel’s head tracking code (Google Tag Manager works)
- Server-side Meta events: workflow “Facebook Conversion API” action with the Funnel Event type
- UTM and URL parameters can flow into form fields for attribution
- “Optimize JavaScript” can delay non-essential scripts and pixels: test after enabling
HighLevel guides: tracking scripts · Meta Conversions API funnel event · URL parameters. Then read the numbers in GoHighLevel reporting.
Follow-up
What happens after someone opts in
The funnel gets the lead; the workflow turns it into a booking or sale.
Opt-in follow-up
- Form submitted
- Deal: New lead
- Send the download
- Text a booking link

Add products
On order steps, set main and bump products; connect a payment provider first.

- Step 5
Test, then publish
Run a test order and a test opt-in before sending traffic.
Best practice
How to get more from GoHighLevel funnels
One ad, one page
Match the headline to the ad people clicked.
Fewer fields
Name, phone, email. Ask the rest later in a survey.
Book on the thank-you page
The best moment to book is right after the opt-in.
Test big changes
Offer and headline first; button colours last.
Save winners as templates
Agencies: keep proven funnels in a snapshot.
Follow up in minutes
A text within five minutes of opt-in beats any page tweak.
