Decide

Which integration method should you use?

Work down the list and stop at the first yes.

  1. Step 1

    Is it native?

Payments, QuickBooks, Shopify, Facebook, Google: use the built-in integration.

  2. Step 2

    Is it in the Marketplace?

Install it from the App Marketplace, or straight from the workflow builder.

  3. Step 3

Is it a simple, low-volume link?

    Use Zapier’s LeadConnector app.

  4. Step 4

Need volume, control or custom data?

    Webhooks, n8n or the API.

Zapier

Connecting GoHighLevel to Zapier

On Zapier, HighLevel is called “LeadConnector”.

  • Log in with your HighLevel account and choose the sub-account: no API key needed
  • Create or update contacts and more from the other apps you use on Zapier
  • Sending raw data into HighLevel with “Webhooks by Zapier” needs a paid Zapier plan

HighLevel guide: connect a sub-account to Zapier.

Webhooks

Webhooks: send and receive data from workflows

Webhooks let any tool start a HighLevel workflow, and let HighLevel push events to any URL.

Inbound webhook (trigger)

  • A unique URL per trigger; accepts POST, GET or PUT
  • JSON payloads only; keys without spaces
  • Can run without a contact; contact actions need an email or phone
  • If the URL leaks, delete the trigger to get a new one

Custom webhook (action)

  • Sends a request with your method, headers, auth and query
  • Push deals, payments or form data to a database or app
  • Failed calls retry with exponential backoff, then fail

Both are premiumpremium: Workflow triggers and actions billed per run after a free allowance, unless you have Workflow Pro. workflow features. HighLevel guides: inbound webhook · custom webhook.

Automation platforms

GoHighLevel with n8n and Make

n8n

n8n

HighLevel documents its MCP server working with n8n without plugins. For full control, call the API v2 from n8n’s HTTP Request node with a Private Integration Token, and receive events with an n8n webhook node.

HighLevel: GHL MCP with n8n
Make

Make

Connect through webhooks or the API, and HighLevel lists Make as an MCP connector so its AI agents can trigger Make scenarios.

Migration

Moving from ActiveCampaign to GoHighLevel

There’s no native sync, and most people who search for one end up moving over. HighLevel publishes a migration guide.

  1. Step 1

    Export contacts

From ActiveCampaign’s Contacts page, with email, names, phone, tags and custom fields.

  2. Step 2

    Clean and import

Dates as YYYY-MM-DD, UTF-8, under 30 MB. Tag the batch “from-activecampaign”.

  3. Step 3

    Bring templates

Use “Import template” with the ActiveCampaign template link (it arrives as an HTML email).

  4. Step 4

    Rebuild automations

Write down each automation’s trigger and steps, then rebuild it as a workflow. Forms and pages are rebuilt too.

HighLevel guide: ActiveCampaign to HighLevel. Back up ActiveCampaign before cancelling. More on importing in the CRM guide.

Data quality

How to avoid duplicate leads from integrations

  • Turn off “Allow duplicate contacts” and choose email or phone matching
  • Always send email and phone from every integration
  • One tool per data flow: don’t let Zapier and a native integration both create the same lead
  • Tag the source in every integration (e.g. “src-shopify”)
  • Merge leftovers monthly (up to 10 at a time; merges are permanent)

Expert take

How I connect GoHighLevel to everything else

GoHighLevel integrations FAQ

What does GoHighLevel integrate with?
Natively with payment providers (Stripe, PayPal, Square, NMI, Authorize.net), QuickBooks, Shopify, Facebook and Instagram, Google Business Profile and Google Sheets, plus apps in the HighLevel App Marketplace. Anything else connects through Zapier, webhooks, n8n or the API.
Does GoHighLevel integrate with Zapier?
Yes, through the “LeadConnector” app on Zapier. You log in with your HighLevel account and choose a sub-account; no API key is needed.
Does GoHighLevel integrate with ActiveCampaign?
There’s no native sync. Most people move from ActiveCampaign to HighLevel instead: export contacts to CSV, import them, bring templates over with “Import template”, and rebuild automations and forms. If you must run both, connect them with Zapier or webhooks.
Can I connect GoHighLevel to n8n?
Yes. HighLevel documents its MCP server working with n8n without plugins, and n8n’s HTTP Request node can call the HighLevel API v2 with a Private Integration Token.
Can I connect GoHighLevel to Make.com?
Yes, through webhooks or the HighLevel API, and HighLevel lists Make as an MCP connector so its AI agents can trigger Make scenarios.
What is an inbound webhook in GoHighLevel?
A premium workflow trigger with its own URL. Any tool can send JSON to it to start a workflow. Each sub-account gets 100 free premium executions, then usage is billed (or included with Workflow Pro).
Does HighLevel integrate directly with Google Sheets?
Yes. The Google Sheets premium workflow action can create, look up, update and clear rows without Zapier.
Can I push Facebook Lead Ads into GHL automatically?
Yes. Connect the Facebook Page in Settings → Integrations, then use the Facebook Lead Form Submitted trigger to follow up instantly.
Does GoHighLevel integrate with Shopify?
Yes. The Shopify integration syncs products, collections, contacts, orders and transactions, and order or abandoned-checkout events can trigger workflows.
How do I stop integrations from creating duplicate leads?
Turn off “Allow duplicate contacts” with email or phone matching, send email and phone with every integration, and use one tool per data flow rather than two tools writing the same contact.
Who can install marketplace apps?
Agency owners and admins. Agencies choose which apps sub-accounts can see, and paid sub-account installs need a card on file.
